Ben Vegh graduated with a degree in Biblical Studies from Evangel University, Springfield, Missouri in 1998. He began his ministry in Dayton, Ohio at Bethel Christian Assembly of God as the children’s pastor. Ben enjoyed over eight and one half years in fulfilling ministry there. The Vegh’s moved their family to the Lakeshore in September of 2006 and Ben became the Lead Pastor at The Gateway Church. Ben and Jessica are enjoying their roles in their current position. They are excited to see people grow in their relationship with God and in their relationships with each other.
Pastor Ben and his wife Jessica have been married since 1996 and have two wonderful children. Their daughter, Raegan, is 15 years old and Logan, their son, is 11 years old.
Ben enjoys a variety of sports and riding motorcycles. As a family, the Vegh’s enjoy traveling, biking, swimming, playing games and watching movies together.
Connecting Pastor / Worship LeaderBobby Hill graduated from Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri with a degree in Bible & Theology in 2012. He began his ministry in Greenwich, Connecticut at Harvest Time Church as the worship and young adults pastor for one year, as well as serving and interning at various other churches around the United States. He came to The Gateway Church in December 2014 where he now serves as the Connecting Pastor – serving over worship and adult discipleship ministries. Bobby loves to proclaim God’s Word and worship Him in spirit and in truth. Seeing people connectively and passionately grow in knowledge of God fuels Bobby’s passion for ministry.
Bobby enjoys making and drinking specialty, home-brewed, single origin coffee. He likes food covered in sriracha, watching an array of movies and television shows, going to art museums, reading theology books, and playing board games.
Pete Benson graduated from Bible Training Institute in the spring of 2012 and has gone through a two year youth internship at a local church in Lansing, MI. He and his family came to The Gateway Church in the summer of 2012 and serves as the youth pastor. He has a love for students and enjoys working with them in the Lord, having fun and being a part of their lives. He and his wife are family oriented and come from two large families themselves. They know and appreciate how important the family dynamic is in a young person’s life. Their goal is to partner with parents in the discipleship of students to have a firm Christian foundation and a lifelong relationship with Jesus.
Pete and his wife Debi have two children of their own. Peter John, who is 8, and Arielle Elizabeth, who is 6. Pete and Debi were married in 2005.
As a family, they enjoy the outdoors, a variety of water sports, playing games, and having family meals together. Pete is an avid outdoors man. He loves fishing, hunting, and nature.
